Experienced. Six sizes. A non-traditional, over-sized cardigan, knitted back and forth flat. Channel Island Cast-On, split garter welts, seed stitch initials, seam stitches, garter stitch definition ridge, underarm gussets, shoulder straps, very full sleeves, buttonbands knitted as part of the body. The gauge is 7 stitches and 11 rnds/ inch in St st.

 

Featured Techniques: The Channel Island Cast-on, Underarm Gussets, Raised Increases, The Perpendicular Shoulder Join, Contrast Color Cast-on.

Materials

•Yarn: 9 (10, 10, 11, 12, 13) 100-gram skeins of Guernsey 5-ply yarn (245 yd/220 m per skein) or other firm sport weight yarn.

•Needles: U.S. 1 (2.25-mm) 24- or 36-in. (60- or 90-cm) circular needle (whichever is more comfortable), 16-in. (40-cm) circular needle, and 7-in. (18-cm) double-

pointed needles. Adjust needle size to obtain gauge.

•Notions: Stitch markers, stitch holders, ten half-inch buttons, scrap contrast color yarn
