Fana Set Experienced
This mitten and scarf set features the motifs from the Fana cardigan. Both mitten and scarf are knitted in the round with gansey yarn for long-lasting wear. The scarf is one size, while there are three sizes for the mittens. A nice compliment to the Fana Socks shown above. Gauge: 7 sts/inch, 9 rounds/inch in 2 color St st.
Featured Techniques: Small Scale Circular Knitting Without Double-Pointed Needles, Stripes in Ribbing, Raised Increases, Knitting Scarves in the Round.
Sizes Mitten Palm circumference: Child- 7” (Woman- 8”, Man- 9”). Scarf Length: Child- 48” (Adult-60”), not including tassels. Width: 5 inches. Materials •Yarn for Mittens: 1 (1,2) 100g skein each of Main Color (MC) and Contrasting Color (CC) of Guernsey yarn (245 yards per skein) OR any smoothly textured sport weight yarn. •Yarn for Scarf: 2 (2) 100g skeins each of Main Color (MC) and Contrasting Color (CC) of Guernsey yarn (245 yards per skein) OR any smoothly textured sport weight yarn. •Needles: One set of four double-pointed needles, size U.S. 1 (2.25mm), or size needed to obtain gauge. Optional for scarf: 12” (30cm) circular needle size US 1 (2.25mm).
