Nordic Mittens

Experienced

These circularly knit mittens are designed in the classic style of the two-color Selbu Mittens of 19th century Norway: ribbing, a large star motif (known in Norway as an “eight blade rose”), pointed tips, “seam” stitches, and different small motifs on the palm, thumb gusset, and thumb. An added twist of many colors makes these mittens more fun to knit. Only the background colors change while the pattern color remains the same.  The gauge is 9 sts and 9 rounds/inch. These mittens are knitted tightly to be warm.
