These sport weight mittens are inspired by a pair seen in a museum, and involve many different motifs. It is written for three sizes (child, woman, and man) and each size is charted out, both palm and front, for clarity. The gusseted thumb and pointed tip add to the authentic style.  Gauge is 7 sts and 8 rounds/ inch in two-color St st.

Featured Techniques: The Double Cast-On, Yarn Dominance, Knitting with Two Yarns in the Left Hand, and Raised Increases.

MATERIALS:

• Yarn: 2 (2, 3) oz. sport weight yarn in EACH of two colors:  Dark (MC) and Light (CC)

• Needles: Double pointed needles (or two circular needles), US size 3, or size to obtain gauge

• Notions: stitch markers, stitch holder, tapestry needle, sticky notes for charts
