Description
When sewing buttons onto knitting, backing buttons should be used to provide stability for the garment. If a button is sewn directly to the knitted fabric, the buttonbands will pull and distort over time. Using a backing button on the other side of the fabric from the button that shows, provides strength.
Choose a backing button that is the same size or a little smaller than the outer button, and has the same number of holes. These backing buttons have 2 holes, suitable for use with a 2-hole button on the public side of the garment, as well as a shank button. If you need a 4-hole backing button, click here.
These buttons are sold in groups of 10, gathered into a little bag. Choose from four sizes:
1/2″ diameter, 12mm, 20 Ligne
5/8″ diameter, 15mm, 24 Ligne
11/16″ diameter, 18mm, 28 Ligne
13/16″ diameter, 20mm, 32 Ligne
