September 14-15, I will be at Sheep and Shawl in Deerfield, Massachusetts.  This sweet shop, owned by Liz Sorenson, has the best byline: “yarns~crafts~community”.  The shop offers local yarns, as well as specialty yarns Liz brings back from her travels.  (Right now she has a limited quantity of Ronaldsay and Zwartbles yarn from her vacation in  Orkney this summer– rare breed wools!  YUM!)

On Friday the 14th, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, I will give a lecture and slide show of  the British gansey, and there will be copies of my new book to be purchased and signed by me. (Liz is offering a 20% discount on the book for those who enroll in the Saturday  workshop!) On the 15th, Saturday, from 10 AM to 5 PM, I will  teach my one-day workshop Gansey Techniques, where knitters will learn the classic Channel Island Cast-On,traditional gansey construction methods, underarm gussets, shoulder straps made with the perpendicular shoulder join, neck gussets, and more!
