Scottish Flags Hat and Filey Scarf Pattern

$8.00

A scarf, patterned with a motif found in Filey, and a cozy, warm hat adorned with Scottish Flags can be knitted separately or as a set, using the same yarn for both!

Description

Intermediate. An easy scarf is a challenge to design: you want it to be interesting and to lie flat, though knitted fabrics do have a tendency to roll and expose the wrong side. With this scarf, I chose a simple but engaging pattern for the majority of the length. Hinting at a ribbing, this motif from the fishing town of Filey. looks almost the same on both sides. Once the pattern is in your head, this scarf will be perfect for social knitting—you’ll be able to keep track of the pattern even while talking! To go along with the scarf is a hat with motifs (“Scottish Flags”)  The hat is knitted in the round, starting with a provisional cast-on, and the hem is double-thickness around the ears for warmth.
