Description
The Estonian cuff is made of Biased, or Diagonal Ribbing that looks like entrelac, but is actually striped knitting. In the main part of the hand, there are three different snowflakes to be worked, depending on the size knitted, while diagonal lines are knitted on the palm. For the fingerless mitt, the open hand is finished off with a striped garter stitch edge, while the mitten has a pointed tip construction. The thumb hole is created using the classic “Afterthought” method. The pattern includes photos and instructions for the special M1o (“Make 1 open”) increase for the ribbing (and here is a video about that), the Vikkel Braid, and charts for three sizes. - Two skeins (for small and medium) or three skeins (for large) of sport weight or DK weight yarn (navy and white)
