It’s been a while since I have written a post. I have been sorta busy. From September of 2023 to March of 2024, I lost both of my parents and I broke AND dislocated my ankle in December. I missed the opportunity to go on a teaching cruise to New Zealand and Australia. So yeah, I have been otherwise occupied.
But now it is May and I am looking ahead. I can walk again (albeit tenuously) and my calendar looks comfortably full with time off this summer to tend my garden.
My retreat is happening next weekend (May 16 to 19) and I will relish seeing the “regulars” and meeting new students! We will be studying the Danish Skrå-trøjefrom the island of Sejerø. This sweater started it all. I saw a chart and B&W photo of this garment in Vibeke Lind’s book, Knitting in the Nordic Tradition. I was in love!
And now I am teaching this sweater again. I have rarely taught this workshop, so I am excited to be doing so next weekend. Life can be hard but there’s always goodness around the corner!
